Key to Answered Prayer: Mounting with the Spirit of God
Many times we pray by uttering certain words of our desires and mixing them up with some Bible verses, we believe we are praying. Many of those prayers do not have power in the absence of the Spirit of God. The best answered prayers are said while a person is mounted with the Spirit of God. The divine highway to God is through Jesus. After Jesus left this world he gave us a helper. He called this helper the Holy Spirit. This Spirit of God becomes a connector, or connecting pipe between us in the physical and God in the Spirit. Without first connecting to the Spirit of God, the chances of your prayer being answered is almost zero. If you want God to hear your prayer and get it answered, you have to connect to him in the Spirit. Words we say from our mouth carry no power without engaging the Spirit of God. The Eternal Spirit of God then becomes the projectile force that carries our message to the heart of people and to the presence of God through the angels.
The first thing Jesus said in his mission statement before his ministry started was, "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor" (St. Luke 4:18).
The same way Jesus indicated that the Spirit of his Father, God has empowered him to preach the gospel, the same way a preacher needs the Holy Spirit during his sermon. What is the value of preaching the message from the pulpit when a preacher is filled with anger, hate, or evil thoughts, or the spirits of deceptions? The spirit that drives you is very critical especially in the house of God.
Another time Jesus also stressed that, "The words that I speak to you, they are Spirit and they are life" (St. John 6:63). Jesus message carries the power of the Spirit of God. Why then do we ignore the mounting of the Spirit before we approach the throne of God in worship? Jesus also said, "God is a Spirit, those who worship God must worship him in Spirit and in truth" (St. John 4:24).
The same Spirit empowerment was demonstrated in the Old Testament saying, "Those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings as the eagles. They shall run and not weary. They shall walk and not faint" (Isaiah 40:31). This is a metaphorical way to define the empowerment and mounting of the Spirit of God.
Praying in the Spirit
Jesus wants us to pray and worship in the Spirit of God. However, we have to mount with the Spirit of God before we can worship in the Spirit. Similarly, when we are going to face a spiritual warfare, the first thing a Christian should do is to mount with the power of the Holy Spirit like the book of Isaiah says. It is the Spirit of God that empowers us to do Gods will in addition to his role as a connecting highway to God. Some people will say praying in the Spirit is praying in tongues. This may be true because the language of Heaven connects our human spirit to the Spirit of God to enter into his presence. However, you can still connect with God by mounting with the Spirit of God without speaking in tongues. I do not speak in tongues, but I know many times when I mounted with the Holy Spirit and entered into his presence. Im still speaking in English, however my voice will change and sound strange to my own ears. The key is not just speaking in tongues, but mounting with the Holy Spirit to help us make a spiritual connection to the presence of God.
Mounting with the Holy Spirit is the same thing as enlarging with the Holy Spirit within a believer. This is similar to a Psalm saying, "Oh magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together" (Psalm 34:3). You must therefore be anointed first with the baptism of the Holy Spirit as a Christian. As Christians, we need to learn not to quench the Spirit of God. We do many things that tend to quench the Spirit of God as we sell our souls to the devil in fulfillment of human desires. We open the wrong door because of our illicit desires and the devil enters our spiritual aura. Then we start to wonder why we are hearing the voice of the enemy of God.
Danger in the Spirit
Some people, even Christians are presently engaging in a dangerous game of opening their souls to the reception of all kinds of other spirits. They either do this for stage performance, or for illicit spirit connections to others, or to enter the unknown world. In the spirit realm, there are many dangerous spirits riding along the spirit highways. The New Age people scares me when they engage in this spirit prostitution against God by worshipping other spirits in the universe contrary to the Spirit of God. Once you have been anointed and indwelling with the Holy Spirit, demons cannot enter you. However, they can camp around you on the outside of your spirit bus and do havocs! The best way to know if a person has taking up another spirit other than that of the Holy Spirit is to look at the behavior pattern of the person. Either the person is addicted to food, alcohol, sex, money power, or anything that pleasures the body. What pleasures the body makes the soul to experience illicit pleasures at the expense of damaging the body. This is how drug addiction takes place. Some people are addicted to validation from other people. They do not realize that the more they crave for those validations the more they enslave themselves to the human spirits of others, or any spirit driving the other person. The same is true with the spirit of phobia, a very typical way to worship demonic spirits by compulsive and obsessive behaviors.
Many people have been instantly healed from addiction with the anointing of the Holy Spirit. This is the basic confirmation that the addictive behavior in many cases are fueled by the energy of the negative spirits we have received. No matter how rich or famous you may be, if you surrender yourself to negative spirits from others, you remain in bondage with the enemy of God. Jesus said, "I came to set at liberty those that are oppressed" (St. Luke 4:18). You have the choice either to stay in an oppressive relationship with negative spirits while you call yourself a Christian, or you let the Spirit of God set you free. Jesus said, "He that the Son of man set free is free indeed" (St. John 8:36). You have the choice either to remain a slave of the enemy of God, or to let Jesus set you free.
Connecting to God in Prayer
Jesus made it easier for us as Christians to connect to God through the Holy Spirit. He is the one who established that highway of connection to God. That was why he said, "I am the way, the truth and the life, nobody comes to the father, but by me" (St. John 14:6). You cannot say you believe in Jesus while you are searching for another highway to God. Jesus already established the highway to Heaven. You either believe in Jesus and do his will, or you believe in something else and be led astray.
The best way to connect with God, is to mount with the Holy Spirit. The key to entering Gods presence is preparation with the purity of the spirit, soul and body. This was how Moses prepared the children of Israel according to instructions from God. Its just not about ritual washing seen in people with compulsive obsessive behaviors. Holiness is God, and we have to approach him as such.
Once we mount with the Holy Spirit during our prayers, the Heaven opens up as a portal before us, we enter Gods presence in the Spirit, and we are able to bring the invisible down to the physical real on earth. Its an answered prayer. The mistakes people make is the misconception that their prayers forced God to prepare solutions to their problems by throwing these gifts down to them. This is very wrong. Before you started praying, God like any Father already knows what you need, just like Jesus said. He already prepared for you what you needed. Here is the problem, you have to come up and get it through your spiritual prayer. However there is another key important component to the prayer. Are you in position, or you are mispositioned? When God was ready to reveal to Abram what he already prepared for him, God had to position Abram by telling him to leave his people. Sometimes your people can be a great distraction and misposition you from hearing Gods voice. Abram obeyed God, and God revealed what he had already prepared for him. Abram did not have to pray to God for anything. God had specially designed gifts for him. Similarly as a Christian, do not allow the world to misposition you from hearing the voice of God because of selfish desires. When we choose to misposition ourselves, we stop hearing the voice of God. In most of the cases, the life of sin tends to misposition us from effectively hearing the voice of God. After Adam and Eve did their number on God, by joining alliance with the devil, God called out to Adam saying, "Adam where are you?" God gave both Adam and Eve something so precious called "Earthly Dominion." They surrendered it to the devil because of the illicit desires of the flesh! People are still doing that today! Even some Christians still believe there is another way to God, or in search for other things in the earth besides God. They walk way from Jesus by searching for other ways to God the Father!
If you believe your prayers are not being answered, ask these questions. Do you have addicted behavior? Are you hearing the voice of God or the voice of your own spirit? Have you mispositioned yourself from God? Are you worshipping the enemy of God?"
You cannot be mounted effectively with the Spirit of God while you are busy prostituting yourself to the enemy of God for earthly gains!
