Who Murdered the Son of God?

The four gospels pointed to the religious leaders during the time of Christ, spearheaded by the chief priests who were afraid Jesus was becoming more popular than they were. That was their political reason to get rid of Jesus. But there was also a divine reason for the crucifixion of Jesus as stated in the gospel of John.

Caiaphas being the high priest that year said to them, "You know nothing at all, nor do you consider that it is expedient for us that one man should die for the people, and not that the whole nation should perish." Now this he did not say on his own authority, but being the high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus would die for the nation, and not for the nation only, but also that he would gather together in one the children of God who were scattered abroad – St. John 11:49-52.

This is a testimony for Jesus’ crucifixion as confirmed by Caiaphas the high priest for that year as he was divinely instructed because he was not speaking on his own authority. He was speaking from the authority from above. Evidently Jesus was meant to die on the cross. Our sins placed him on the cross but human hate and jealousy orchestrated the events leading to Jesus crucifixion. Many times God will use the evil in the hearts of men to accomplish his divine purpose.

Therefore the argument that the religious leaders of the time of Christ were only blinded by their hateful desire against Jesus is unattainable. The high priest of the year already told them the divine reason why Jesus was going to die on the cross was for the good of humanity. So, the church leaders at the time of Christ knew what they were doing. This idea that the religious leaders of the time of Christ did not know what they were doing when they wanted Jesus arrested may not be accurate.

Furthermore, when Jesus was born and King Herod heard that a new king was born, he started to inquire from the religious leaders for the true information as to where Jesus was to be born.

"Where is he who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen his star in the East, and have come to worship him." When Herod the king heard this, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. And when he had gathered all the Chief Priests and the Scribes of the people together, he inquired of them where the Christ was to be born. So they said to him, "In Bethlehem of Judea, for this is written by the prophet" St Matthew 2:2-5.

If the Chief Priests knew Jesus was to be born by quoting the book of Micah 5:2 for King Herod, there is not doubt that they knew who Jesus was from the beginning. They were not taken by surprise. Therefore, the reason why the religious leaders rejected Jesus was because he exposed their hypocrisy. As a result, they became very angry and plotted to arrest and put him to death.

Jesus in one of his sermons preached about how people love darkness, and when the light was revealed, people became very uncomfortable. We see the same thing playing out today in politics when the same people who claim they want to save America are the very people setting America on the course for eventual destruction. They only cater to their own selfish and egocentric ideologies, and the desires of the wealthy. They do not care if the common people suffer. To them the common people and the working class are the indenture slaves for the rich and most powerful. Their slogan is to "Take away money from the poor and give it to the rich." Their purpose is to create a cast system where the working class stayed at the mercy of the rich. Sadly some Christians have followed along the pathway of eventual destruction. Jesus said, "If you have done it to the least of these my brethren, you have done it to me." In his judgment, Jesus said those hypocrites are going straight to hell! Jesus made it very clear that those self-righteous people were not working for him. They were only working for themselves. That was why Jesus said, "I never knew you, ye workers of iniquity. Then Jesus gave them a painful sentence. Like the religious leaders of the time of Christ, they cannot say they do not know what they are doing. They know, but GREED has dominated them leading to the failing of human conscience. Do not think Jesus can be fooled by the political hypocrisy of the so-called righteous trying to save America from the working class while scamming them of their money in the name of Christ. The Day of Judgment is going to be very interesting.

Before you join the political bandwagon of any politician, or Christian leaders leading you away from Christ, ask yourself whether, such leaders that you embrace are true followers of Christ. Judge them not only by what they say, but also by what they do. There are many fake preachers both within the church and in politics. They will use one emotional issue to blind you to the truth of their intentions. They lack the integrity of purpose. Their intention is to get you all excited with fanciful slogans capturing your passion and dismantling your ability to think for yourself and leading you astray away from the teachings of Christ. Jesus said, "The Holy Spirit will lead you to all truth" St. John 16:13. If you allow yourself to be fooled, do not blame them; blame yourself. People will manipulate you for both their own political and financial gains. Doing the will of a politician or that of a preacher does not make you a Christian. True preachers are only sent to sow the seeds of the word of God, not to empty the pockets of the believers. Give offerings to God from your heart, not because a particular person is coercing you. If you allow the Holy Spirit to guide you, he will lead you to do the will of God. That is what it means to be true Christians! That is the primary reason why Jesus went to the cross. He came to rescue us from the deceptions of the devil that started in the Garden of Eden still being perpetuated today. In the process of freeing us, he died on the cross in payment for our sins to reconcile us back to the Father in Heaven.

Therefore answering the question, "Who murdered the Son of God?" We all did, due to our sins. Jesus said, "He that the son of man set free is free indeed." Yet, there are many in the church who are living in bondage because they allow their selfishness and political hypocrisy to lead them away from Christ. If you are in this type of a situation that politics becomes your Bible and your political leaders become Jesus, ask God for forgiveness, repent, and surrender your desires to the Holy Spirit.

If you reach out to God, he will reach out to you because, "In his presence is the fullness of joy and in his right hand are pleasures forever more" Psalm 16:11.
